Earlier this year I was told to go see Robbie by my boss. Going in the first time I was extremely nervous because I’ve only had my hair cut by 2 other people in my life. So this was a big really big deal to me. I sat down in his chair almost immediately Robbie’s confidence and bubbly personality really relaxed me. That allowed me to take in the experience and thoroughly enjoy it.
Today was my 3rd time back to get my hair cut by Robbie. Absolutely love Fru-Fru Hair, the salon is so abstract and enjoyable. Also the location is great! Very peaceful for downtown Ithaca. My favorite part of the salon was the amazing new hair style Robbie gave me! The best haircut I’ve ever had!!! Love love love the Fru-Fru hair style!!!

I booked a cut and color with Robby on a friend's recommendation, and I am so glad I did. I love what he did with my hair! He has excellent communication skills and also is just such a nice person. Reasonable pricing, too. I booked my next appointment before leaving the shop.

I've been going to Robby since before he started his own salon. He knows how to work with my straight, fine hair, and he's easy to talk to. I've had my hair "pixie" short for years, but Robby has given me the best short haircuts. He also answers my random hair questions. 🙂

Also, neurodivergent people and others who get overwhelmed in large spaces with lots of people: you might like this salon! It is a cozy space, and it's usually just me, Robby, and sometimes 1-2 other people who are finishing their appts or waiting for mine to end. The color scheme and decor are fun to look at.

What a wonderful experience! It's quite hard to find someone who will go above and beyond for your hair! Robby IS that guy!

I have some pretty thick, coarse and oddly wavy hair but Robby was able to figure out how to cut it right away! He was very attentive, took his time and made sure I knew what he was doing every step of the way!

I got a haircut today and it was my first visit with Robby. All I can say it is clear as day that Robby absolutely loves what he does and you can see him get lost in the art of hair styling and perfection when he is working on your hair. Robby Brown had been my guy for several years at a well known salon. I switched to him because I liked his energy and felt he could help update this mid-fifties lady. Now, he's struck out on his own! Robby's hung out his own shingle, right in Fall Creek.✂️ It was never a question to follow him. He knows how to work with my fine, thin hair, helping me look good vs frumpy - sometimes I've been given an edgy (for me) look for a fun workable update. Plus, he does my eyebrows.

My teen son sees Robby, too. We both feel Robby listens and understands what a growing kid wants. That's not always easy to find and we had to kiss a few frogs first. When I said that the well known salon was closing my son asked slightly worriedly, "is Robby still around?" When I said yes, he's got his very own salon, my son replied "Good. As long as I can still see Robby." Teen endorsement is gold.

Robby's smart, creative, intuitive, polite and kind. I look forward to many years of artistry and conversation with him.

I don’t get my hair done often but am new to the area and have seen Fru Fru on my walks through the neighborhood and decided to make an appointment and treat myself. My hair was like a helmet and growing out weird from having shaved my head last year. Robbie was kind, thoughtful, full of good ideas and advice and I just trusted him immediately to help me look and feel better. He gave me a great cut especially considering I didn’t come in knowing what I wanted. It was affordable and quick, he recommended some good products, and I left feeling good. I highly recommend him for the folks with short or long hair as he obviously has skills in all categories. I’ll be going back to him as often as I can afford it.
